Andrew W.K. To Play Solo Piano Set at Santos’ Lymphoma Benefit 5/3

Everybody knows and loves Andrew W.K. for the hard-rocking, bloody-nosed party monster that he is. But did you know that he’s also a classically-trained pianist? The well-kept secret of Andrew’s softer side will be on full display on Monday, May 3rd, at the benefit “FOR THE MOUSTACHE THAT YOU LOVE”, a fundraiser for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, hosted at Andrew’s NYC venue Santos Party House. The night will feature a solo piano performance from the artist, featuring works from his acclaimed 2009 album 55 Cadillac — a collection of dynamic piano improvisations released on Thurston Moore’s Ecstatic Peace label. Also making appearances will be Deradoorian, the solo project of Dirty Projectors’ bassist/vocalist Angel Deradoorian, and the ethereal, groove-based indie rockers Mon Khmer. A great cause, supported by a diverse mix of very talented artists. Click here for more info and tickets.
