Nokia N900 Gets Android 2.2

Pretty soon, we’re going to have to start reporting that all smartphones have gotten a port of Android 2.2! This time, hackers have disregarded the fantastic operating system that Maemo is and planted the latest version of Android on one of Nokia’s current flagship devices, the Nokia N900.

Everything isn’t perfect – the device can’t quite catch a network signal, you need to manually configure the IP address settings for WiFi, it’s quite laggy to the touch (just as the iPhone’s Android port) and the SD card can’t be mounted – but development is always moving along. Hit the play button on the video above for the 6-minute demonstration.
