Free MP3: Gang of Four – “Never Pay For the Farm”

Yes, that Gang of Four (no Maoist politics, please) have a new album coming out that’s been cooking for three years, marking their first full-length release in 16 years. Content will be officially released by Yep Roc on January 25, but devoted fans can get a fix or two at the band’s Pledge Music page, where donations are rewarded with sneak peeks of the new album.
We’ve got a taste for you, too: “Never Pay For the Farm” attacks consumerism and materialism head-on with a super-danceable beat, which of course, mirrors what Gang of Four always did best. Try not to move your feet to the metallic, mesmerizing rhythm, even if you’re sitting down. Go on, we dare you. Oh, and Bloc Party? Time to pack it up… the O.G. dance punks are back.
