Preview: Anderson Cooper Interviews Eminem on ‘60 Minutes’
Eminem doesn’t do interviews very often. (Heck, the guy rarely smiles in public.) But this Sunday 60 Minutes is featuring an in-depth interview with the rap icon. Emo journo Anderson Cooper met up with the Detroit lyricist and talked to the man born Marshall Mathers about his career, family life and battle with drugs.
“Profanity around my house? No,” Eminem tells Cooper. “I’m not saying there’s not glimpses of me in the music, [that] there’s not truth in …things that I say. But this is music, this is my art…”
Em adds: “I’m a parent. I have daughters. I mean, how would I really sound, as a person…walking around my house [saying] ‘Bitch, pick this up,’ you know what I mean?…I don’t cuss.”
During an interview at his well appointed studio, he shares with Coop how he crafts his rhymes, basically saying he never met a word he couldn’t work into one of his verses. “People say that the word orange doesn’t rhyme with anything and that kind of pisses me off because I can think of a lot of things that rhyme with orange….”
60 Minutes airs Sunday at 7pm EST.
