‘That Metal Show’: New Shows, New Guests, More Metal

Whether you love VH1 Classic’s That Metal Show on account of the legends of heavy metal spilling their guts and giving the backstory on their own musical milestones, or you just get off on the sheer geek appeal of host Eddie Trunk taking on all comers in the metal trivia challenge, you’re in luck, because there’s a whole new season of the show afoot. In fact, it’s already begun! Just last week, things kicked off with a special tribute episode about the late Ronnie James Dio, featuring everyone from Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler to Rob Halford. But even if you missed that show, don’t kick yourself too hard about it — you might get distracted and miss the next one!
The latest iteration of the show has been expanded to a full-hour format, offering that much more metal time for viewers to absorb the tales this season’s guests bring to the table. And the guest roster this time around does not disappoint — members of Van Halen, Pantera, Quiet Riot, and many more will be chewing the fat with Trunk and his co-hosts Don Jamieson and Jim Florentine. Just to make sure you don’t miss a minute of the metal mania, we’ve added a schedule of the new shows below, all of which premiere on Saturdays at 11 p.m.
10/23 – Michael Anthony (Van Halen / Chickenfoot), Carrie Keagan and Kip Winger
10/30 – Philip Anselmo (Pantera / Down) and Billy Sheehan (David Lee Roth Band, Mr. Big)
11/06 – Phil Collen (Def Leppard) and Frankie Banali (Quiet Riot)
11/13 – Tesla (Jeff Keith and Frank Hannon) and Testament (Chuck Billy)
11/20 – Bill Ward (Black Sabbath) and Danzig
11/27 – Jason Bonham and Rikki Rockett (Poison)
12/04 – Slash and Myles Kennedy (Slash’s singer)
12/11 – Scrap Metal
