Samsung Galaxy Tab WiFi-only version delayed till next year
The WiFi-only version of the Galaxy Tab was first spotted in a Best Buy buyer’s guide last month, but we were unable to confirm if it was actually coming out. My friend Kellen from Android Life just informed me that a new leak suggests it has been delayed till after the holidays.
Best Buy’s internal memo says we should see the WiFi-only Tab come post-holiday, but I’m starting to doubt if that will ever happen. Samsung already confirmed they are working on a Honeycomb tablet which we expect early next year and the timing for a WiFi-only Tab just doesn’t make sense anymore.
Kellen is also reporting that the Verizon Galaxy Tab selling for $599 will require a month-to-month data plan even though you can buy it without a contract. If you were still hoping to get a commitment-free Tab, then the T-Mobile version might be your best bet right now.
