The Brooklyn-via-New Orleans trio Callers are gearing up for an album release show this Monday in NYC for their sophmore LP Life of Love, before jetting off to Spain to finish up their 2010 tour. A little bit jazzy, a lot bit post-punk, and undeniably soulful, the threesome are super skilled at taking disparate musical elements and making something very new and stirring from them — the lead single off the new album, “How You Hold Your Arms,” is a perfect example. Spare in a way that’s both haunting and calming, it features the Sinead-like vocals of Sara Lucas, who says about the track, “Most of our songs go through many versions and take time to settle. This one took four hours.” Download it below, and check out the just-released video, directed by Mike Anderson.
