Vevo 'HD' app for iPad brings free music videos to your tablet, along with exclusives, originals, and live events
Vevo, the self-proclaimed 'Hulu for music videos', has had an iPhone app in the iTunes App Store for quite a while now, but recently that has been joined by Vevo HD — a special version for the iPad.
Vevo HD serves high-quality (but obviously not HD, as the iPad's display isn't capable of rendering 720p) music videos from over 7,500 artists, but the app's rich content isn't limited to music videos. There are many exclusives, such as behind-the-scenes looks at making videos, original content, music video premieres, and even live streams of music events. Vevo HD also features 'Music Map,' which you see what videos are being watched in your geographical proximity.
Videos can be watched full-screen or at a size that allows you to browse through a side-panel of related content at the same time. If you like something, you can share it via email or to Facebook or Twitter and even buy the song from iTunes. The app is ad-supported, and as such you will see sponsors' messages from time to time.
