VLC for iOS now available from Cydia
If you've been keeping up with the VLC for iOS saga, the cross platform media player saw its brief stint in the App Store come to an end yesterday. While VLC's outspoken frontman Remi Denis-Courmant seemed pretty convinced that this would happen as far back as October 2010, some on the VLC mailing lists figured that distribution via Cydia would be an option — since it would allow for a fully GPL-compliant release.
Developer Ryan Petrich announced on Twitter that he was doing what he could to help ensure users had access to VLC for iOS — by making it available via Cydia. If you've got a jailbroken iOS device, you just need to add his beta repository (http://rpetri.ch/repo) to your sources and you're good to go.VLC for iOS now available from Cydia
