Lenovo’s Summer Plans Include Two 10-inch Honeycomb Tablets, No US Smartphones

Lenovo has yet to crack the US market, but that may finally change as the company plans to launch two new Honeycomb tablets later this summer (we’ve heard previous rumors of at least one). We may never see the Lenovo LePad here in the States, but the two new 10-inch slates will offer options for the everyday consumer and business user, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal. Lenovo’s phone business in the US is another story altogether, with the same report indicating that we won’t see a phone from the manufacturer on American soil for at least another 12 to 18 months.Lenovo is banking on tablets to replace netbooks and take up a 15 percent share of the PC market. We sincerely hope part of that 15 percent does eventually include tablets from Lenovo in the US.[via WSJ]
